Characters/pairings: Yun, Plumbish Military Governor, postmortem Rodoreamon/Mamiina, mentions of the rest of the cast.
Summary: Through more wars and more crafts and assaults, the Keeper of the Spring remains as she is. But even that which never changes must react, sometimes, to that which does.
Warnings: Mentions of massacre and children as collateral damage, implied suicidal ideation. Religion. Lots of angst. Spoilers for the whole series.
Notes: A few references to the OP and ED titles, and to Nazuka Kaori's written thoughts on the series, at the end. Thanks to the tracks for being called what they're called and to Nazuka for being Nazuka.

| Winter Contest 2011 |

There is a Simoun contest going on now at DeviantArt. I've typed up a journal entry in the community there that details all of the rules, but it will run from today until January 3, and is winter/holiday themed. Prizes include a complete 5 DVD volume set of the series and a wallscroll of choice.

I'm feeling like giving away something and thought a contest would be great. I was wondering if there'd be any interest though? It'd involve both fanart, fanfic, and then a "just for commenting" section too. Contest might be winter/holiday themed of some kind.
As for prizes:
I was thinking a complete series set (individual volumes) for first, one of the wall scrolls floating around on eBay for second, and then perhaps a poster clipping/fanfic request for the "just for commenting" part.
Anyone want to enter?

It's been awhile since I've bought any new Simoun merchandise. I found this on eBay recently, along with 3 other types. I'm pretty positive it's bootleg, but it is a heavier fabric than I've seen used for wall scrolls. It's a 24 x 32 scroll size. It does have the faint smell of chemicals, but it is gorgeous. Those who know me know I tend to pick up bootleg stuff from time to time just because.

Notes: This is actually based on a true story. I have never forgotten this from my own kindergarten year. There was a day when I was sick, but wanted to go to school. I knew that by staying home, mom would confine me to bed all day, and no fun activities. I went to school and got sick during morning snack. I don't know what the snack was, but there was orange juice to drink. Totally ate snack...and brought it right back up. I also know that one of my classmates named Macy painted me a picture with me and a few other girls on it in blue paint. Just an FYI, I really hated her when we were older XD Anyway...

| Otakon 2011 |

So Otakon is this weekend and it's going to be awesome :D
If anyone's going, there's a Simoun meetup on Saturday at 1:30. AND we'll have some Simoun cosplayers too! I will be going as Aaeru Friday in priestess dress and Aaeru Saturday in pilot uniform. There's going to be a Neviril and a Morinas at the shoot. We'll all be in pilot gear.
If you're cosplaying from Simoun, or just wanna come hang out, we're meeting up in the hallway to the left of the Starbucks in the convention center at 1:30 on Saturday. From there we're moving to the Hilton, as the Morinas cosplayer says the bar there has always reminded her of the bar on the Arcus Prima. It's gonna be a blast.
As for my cosplay, I've got images of both outfits now.

I have a full body shot, but I hate it so I haven't shared that yet. I am supposed to have a private shoot Saturday so I should have some good pics after con at some point.
I need to get back to packing. If you're going though, keep an eye out for the mini-lunkhead. I find it's easier to spot plush than to spot costumes. XD If you catch me, I'll give you a trading card for whatever cosplay I have that day. If you let me know you're from the community here, I'll give ya one of my Pathtag coins. |
