I’ve had this idea in mind for awhile. Some of you have heard me mention that Simoun Kindergarten was connected to it.
I want to make this summer the “Summer of Simoun”.
I want to gather together anyone who wants to participate, whether you’re fanfic author, drabble writer, artist, icon maker, etc. If you have something that you can contribute, then by all means, join our cause. Write, draw, paint, screencap, script. I want to use this chance to build the fandom up, since there is so little out there. Simoun is perhaps the smallest fandom I’ve been involved in, and it always makes me sad that it is so small. It needs more love.
And you can help.
All you have to do is decide what you want to contribute and how much. You can do as much as you’d like. As long as you can contribute something to the fandom, that’s great. It’s one more thing that wasn’t around before, now isn’t it? You can keep your postings strictly to the LJ community, or you can spam the whole Internet and share on as many sites as you want. Whatever you feel you are capable of.
“Summer” for all purposes will be considered from June 1 until August 31. The announcement is being made early so that you have time to decide on what you’d like to do. By the end of the summer, I’d love to see a good comparison between what we had prior to June 1, and then what we have by September 1.
During this time, I’ll be posting Simoun Kindergarten drabbles once a day to fanfiction.net. That’s why I wanted 60 to start with. Once June 1 rolls around, for the remainder of summer I want to try to post a drabble a day. 60 gives me a buffer to build 32 more for the remaining days. The goal is to get people reading a little bit of Simoun every day. I may also see about getting a fanart piece done for SK so I’m not borrowing another’s work. I also plan to focus on doing more fanfiction and accomplishing my goal of doubling the original number of posted fics on ff.net when I got into Simoun in February. I’m at 15. I need 4 more.
I’ll also keep posting things to the community. The !picspam posts won’t last forever, and I may try to see about gathering some more questions to discuss as well because I know I love reading what everyone else thinks on a particular topic.
What will your goal be?
Even if you feel you have not a creative bone in your body, we still can use you! Comments, critiques, and positive attitudes are needed. Contribution to the discussion sections are also loved. You can let us know what you enjoy and what you want to see more of. In the famous words of another (twisted into a new saying) “LJ readers, make Simoun grow!”

Sounds like a great goal. I look forward to seeing what you can create this summer, and I hope you're able to reach your goal. I'd love to see others reach their own goals.

To be truthful, I really like the fandom so far. There may not be much contribution, but there is a wonderful group of people to comment and make suggestions. I came from a slightly larger fandom and it bugged me that there often wasn't a lot of comments from the fans... they just didn't care as much.

As for contributing, hm...I don't know that I should commit to it for certain but you can be sure that I'll put something up if the inspiration strikes me. Just...my inspiration is in a whole other fandom at the moment, but hey, we've got all summer. XD

(Of course, to get inspiration, I'll have to watch the anime a fifth time, aha. 8D Totally doing that this summer. Not that I need an excuse to watch Simoun, but still).
I know I say it over and over but all of your Simoun fics are REALLY appreciated. I love this show and the lack of fandom for it always made me sad, and that's probably part of the reason I hadn't written fics for it or anything (well, besides the fact that I don't write as much as I used to in general, but anyway). All the energy you bring to the fandom is making me really excited to do some writing and I'll see what else I can produce this summer :) I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone else comes up with, too :D

But you have good icons! I'm sure I'm using some of them of Aaeru for the RP I'm in with her.
You are more than welcome. I quickly fell in love with it. I just feel so connected to the story and characters, something I've not found before. I suppose everyone feels this way when they find their true "favorite".
I'm glad you enjoy my fics. I really should friend you...my latest entry involves 3 key words for the next fic I just started today. It will make you go o.O I'ma friend you anyway :D

I often get very attached to fandoms, but it's rare for me to have a fandom like Simoun that I get this attached to for /this long/...I'm often a fandom-hopper but Simoun keeps drawing me back despite the small fandom.
And thanks for friending me :D It made me happy...tbh I get shy about friending people because just to warn you I don't use my own journal for anything at the moment, so I feel weird about being the first to add someone else, but I would love to comment on your journal entries so that's great =D

I haven't been in Simoun for long, but I know that this is the first fandom where my writing has just skyrocketed. It sorta did with Rainbow Brite and I think it very well could have been that I did a lot more fics for it if I hadn't started 2 longshots. One I'm still doing... I do love this fandom. It may be small, but it's pretty close-knit and friendly.
I think I've friended many of the people from here. I don't mind that you don't use your LJ; I had to friend you before you could see my journal so I could add you to my one group. Sometimes I post about Simoun ramblings and possible ideas for new fics. Sometimes I even have interesting things...like the "Hugs for Neviril" counter on my profile XD
Aren't they awesome key words? I cannot wait to work on it tonight...I really blazed through it at lunch with what I wrote because I just felt like... man, even if the show had ended this way, it would have been amusing to see these two in a chosen gender.

As for my goal, I'll have to put some more thought into it. I'd like to draw all of the main characters, favorite or unusual pairings, characters in modern street clothes...*plots dreamily* This will be a good opportunity to backread the posts I've missed here, too. I'm excited!
